Informiamo tutti gli addetti ai lavori ed i titolari delle certificazioni GMDSS che, a seguito di trattative internazionali, il Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico Italiano riconosce nuovamente i certificati di competenza (CoC) GMDSS GOC & ROC rilasciati dal Regno Unito.

- il M.I.T (dipartimento trasporti e navigazione)
- al Comando Generale delle Capitanerie di Porto
“Nel momento in cui gli ispettorati territoriali Italiani hanno comunicato che il MIT non riconosceva i certificati di competenza (CoC) rilasciati dal Regno Unito con la motivazione che il Regno Unito, a seguito della Brexit, era diventato un Paese extracomunitario, la CERNET si è attivata immediatamente inviando, tramite mail, al MIT e al MISE quesiti in merito nonché sollecitandoli a dare corso ad una “rogatoria” per poter risolvere il problema al più presto possibile.”
Contestualmente abbiamo inviato una mail al CEPT in data 22.03.2021 il cui contenuto lo condividiamo con molto piacere:
“Good Morning,
even if England is now a non-EU country, does this not exclude the full validity of the GMDSS GOC/ROC issued by MCA?
Italian Ministry MIT is not acknowledging the GMDDS issued by MCA UK.
it is a big problem also exacerbated by the pandemic.
There are hundreds of Italian seafarers who cannot embark because the MIT does not recognize the certificates.
Can you in any way intervene to resolve this situation?
I personally believe it is in the interest of all CEPT members, not just Italy.

Thank you for your enquiry.
The CEPT has no role in the issuing of operators certificates. However, this issue has been discussed in the relevant forum (FM58) where national maritime regulators attend, including the MCA.
Please can I have your permission to bring your email to the members of the FM58 committee, so that the issue is seen by the relevant national regulators.
